Course Overview:
The course provides networking professionals with the fundamentals and applications of Cisco IP telephony (Selsius) technology. The course includes phone & gateway installation, configuration, operations, & problem resolution. Students will be able to install and configure Cisco CallManager on an supported Media Convergence Servers, Cisco IP Phones, analog & digital Cisco IP Telephony Access Gateways in a laboratory or demonstration situation. The course includes exercises that focus on Cisco IP telephony using Cisco CallManager. Students will be able to build the three recommended deployment models; Isolated Campus, Multi-site deployment with distributed call-processing & multi-site deployment with centralized call-processing.

Prerequisites:

To fully benefit from CIPT, you should already possess certain prerequisite skills:
Commonly used networking terms & topologies
The basic functions of a network protocol
Fundamental network device roles (for example, hub, bridge, router, & switch)
The Open System Interconnection (OSI) reference model
The ability to use Windows 2000 to run multiple applications
Exposure to accessing the Internet or an intranet
Basic knowledge of binary & hexadecimal numbering
Telephony & IP telephony
